If you have a photo that you would like to share, please send the photo in an envelope with your child to give to their teacher. Please write the veteran’s name and your child’s name on the back of the photo so that we may return the photos to the correct student. Please include the veteran’s name, rank, branch, and years served. You may also include your child’s name and how the veteran is related to your child. Digital photos can be emailed to Colleen Johnson at cjohnson@rsu20.org.

Welcome to the 2017-18 School Year!

posted Sep 4, 2017, 4:42 PM by Geoff Cyr

Dear Parents and Guardians of Searsport Elementary School Students:

On behalf of the dedicated and passionate staff at Searsport Elementary, I am excited to welcome everyone to the 2017-2018 school year!  Our Custodial and Maintenance staff have been working hard all summer to prepare our building and grounds for a fresh start.  The staff are excited to fill their classrooms with students again!

Open House:  We would like to invite students and families to our SES Open House on Wednesday, August 30 from 4:30pm - 5:30pm.  This is a time for students to see their new classrooms, classmates, and teachers.  We hope to see many faces stopping in for a visit!

Parking Lot Construction Project:  Many have noticed that our Front Parking Lot Project is underway and moving fast.  The paving company’s goal is to complete the project on the same night of the PreK -5 Open house, Tuesday, August 30 from 4:30pm - 5pm.  The surface will not be ready for use until after Labor Day weekend.  So, it is very important to be aware of the change in traffic flow and any congestion that may arise due to ensure the safety of all.  Together we can get through the first two days of school!

Welcome Pre K:  Our building is now a PreK - 5th grade school!  Our Head Start classrooms will be located in the Cape Of Dreams wing, across from our 2nd graders.  It is exciting to be able to have our 4 year olds begin their academic journey within the walls of SES.

Arrival & Dismissal:  During normal school days, students may be dropped off between 7:45am - 7:55am at which time proper student supervision occurs.  This is to ensure safety and to maintain high attendance marks.  Upon arriving, students follow their classroom procedures for breakfast.  Attendance is promptly taken at 8:00am.

*If your student has a change in his/her normal dismissal destination, please contact the office by sending in a signed note with your student or calling by 11:00am.

Teamwork:  We at Searsport Elementary School are proud to be working in partnership with the families of our students.  Our teamwork and collaboration will empower our students for success.  Let’s all work hard to keep the lines of communication open.  After all, we are all in it for the students.

Sincerely,

Mr. Clement, Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians, June 12, 2017

June 19, 2017

Can it be that it is the end of the school year?  That’s right, the LAST DAY of SCHOOL will be a half day on Monday, June 19, 2017.  With that said, please be sure to make arrangements for your student(s) to meet someone off the bus or be picked up accordingly.

Parent pick-up is at 11:30 a.m. and our buses begin loading at 11:40 a.m. on those days.  Students will be sent home with their report cards and final class placements.

It has been a pleasure watching the children at SES flourish before our eyes.  You have wonderful children who are excited about learning.  Thank you for all you do to support your child's education.  A strong partnership between home and school fosters greater success for our children.

The 2017- 2018 RSU 20 School Calendar can be accessed at www.rsu20.org.  Incoming Kindergarten students will receive a letter in August regarding the Open House and officially welcoming them to Searsport Elementary School!
