Dear Parents and Guardians of Searsport Elementary School Students:

On behalf of the dedicated and passionate staff at Searsport Elementary, I am excited to welcome everyone to the 2017-2018 school year!  Our Custodial and Maintenance staff have been working hard all summer to prepare our building and grounds for a fresh start.  The staff are excited to fill their classrooms with students again!

Open House:  We would like to invite students and families to our SES Open House on Wednesday, August 30 from 4:30pm - 5:30pm.  This is a time for students to see their new classrooms, classmates, and teachers.  We hope to see many faces stopping in for a visit!

Parking Lot Construction Project:  Many have noticed that our Front Parking Lot Project is underway and moving fast.  The paving company’s goal is to complete the project on the same night of the PreK -5 Open house, Tuesday, August 30 from 4:30pm - 5pm.  The surface will not be ready for use until after Labor Day weekend.  So, it is very important to be aware of the change in traffic flow and any congestion that may arise due to ensure the safety of all.  Together we can get through the first two days of school!

Welcome Pre K:  Our building is now a PreK - 5th grade school!  Our Head Start classrooms will be located in the Cape Of Dreams wing, across from our 2nd graders.  It is exciting to be able to have our 4 year olds begin their academic journey within the walls of SES.

Arrival & Dismissal:  During normal school days, students may be dropped off between 7:45am - 7:55am at which time proper student supervision occurs.  This is to ensure safety and to maintain high attendance marks.  Upon arriving, students follow their classroom procedures for breakfast.  Attendance is promptly taken at 8:00am.

*If your student has a change in his/her normal dismissal destination, please contact the office by sending in a signed note with your student or calling by 11:00am.

Teamwork:  We at Searsport Elementary School are proud to be working in partnership with the families of our students.  Our teamwork and collaboration will empower our students for success.  Let’s all work hard to keep the lines of communication open.  After all, we are all in it for the students.

Sincerely,

Mr. Clement, Principal
